Donald Fauntleroy Duck made his debut in the Silly Symphony, The Wise Little Hen, released in 1934. He subsequently made three appearances in Mickey Mouse Cartoons (in which he stared, and Mickey did not appear) until Disney released Donald’s Ostrich as the first Donald Duck Cartoon in December 1937. 124 episodes later, in 1961, the last of Donald’s cartoons aired. But that wasn’t the end of this fan favourite. Donald has continued to enthral - his fiery temper, coupled with his positive outlook on life and devotion to his friends, endearing him to audiences worldwide.
Despite its shape and colour, this coin is still legal tender with the obverse featuring the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is protected by a custom-made coin case and eye-catching Mickey & Friends themed packaging, complete with window for easy display.
